Hall of Fame honors women baseball players

The pain of a broken finger, an infected scrape, or even missing a cut-off man, did not bring Elliott or any other real former All-American Girls Professional Baseball League player to tears.

Many have long thought of baseball as a sport played by male players only.  That the female gender's primary role in baseball was to serve as spectator.  This is not what has always been the case.

The origin of Women’s History Month dates back nearly 100 years. Women have been in baseball much longer.

Women have been playing baseball a long time. CoH please.

Thanks for the post

You are welcome, my friend. I am a member of the Women Who Play Baseball group. It's a very small group, and I have learned a lot from the information provided the group's membership.

I loved the film "A League of Their Own" and am glad to hear these ladies are being honored for their contribution to this great sport. Crying shame the league folded. I think it would be fantastic if we had as many women's teams being held as high as the (male only) American and National leagues are.

Great seed!

It is a shame the league folded. I will admit. It's difficult for me to sit down and watch an entire professional baseball game. But if women were playing, I would personally be more interested. The ladies being honored for their contribution was great. "A League of Their Own" was one of my favorite movies. Thanks for visiting my Friend.
